Yog Vidya Dham Sets Record For Foot Massages To Warkaris

A remarkable feat was achieved by Yog Vidya Dham, a yoga organisation, when it set a world record for providing foot massages to the highest number of Warkari pilgrims in a single day. This achievement took place during the annual Pune–Pandharpur Wari, a significant pilgrimage in Maharashtra.

On July 11, a team of 153 yoga instructors and massage therapists from Yog Vidya Dham voluntarily provided foot massage therapy to 3,264 Warkaris at Zhendewadi, atop the demanding Dive Ghat section of the pilgrimage route. The foot massages were given between 9:15 am and 5:15 pm, offering relief to pilgrims who had just completed the arduous 35-kilometre Pune–Saswad stretch.

The organisation, under the leadership of Pramod Mukund Niphadkar, has been serving Warkaris for over a decade, providing them with relief through massage and acupuncture. Niphadkar stated that his organisation offers Industrial Technical Institute-approved courses in acupuncture and massage, and they have seen the difficulties that Warkaris face during their nearly 350-kilometre pilgrimage to Pandharpur.

The record attempt was independently documented and verified in accordance with the World Records Book of India (WRBI) standards. The initiative was organised in association with the Sanjeevani Social Foundation and aimed to provide physical comfort to thousands of devotees while promoting the values of compassion, voluntary service, and community participation.

Sushma Narvekar, Founder and Chief Editor of the World Records Book of India, congratulated Niphadkar, the volunteers, supporters, and thousands of Warkaris who participated in the initiative. She said that the achievement reflects the true spirit of humanitarian service and demonstrates that true greatness is achieved by serving others with dedication, discipline, and humility.

The Pune–Pandharpur Wari is a centuries-old tradition that attracts thousands of devotees every year. The pilgrimage is approximately 325 kilometres long and is considered one of the most significant in Maharashtra. The Warkaris, who are devotees of Lord Vitthala, embark on this journey to reach the temple in Pandharpur, which is considered a sacred place.

The initiative by Yog Vidya Dham has promoted the spirit of service and compassion during the Wari. It has also highlighted the importance of community participation and voluntary service. The organisation's efforts have made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of Warkaris, providing them with relief and comfort during their pilgrimage.

In conclusion, the achievement by Yog Vidya Dham is a remarkable example of humanitarian service and compassion. It demonstrates the power of community participation and voluntary service, and it has made a positive impact on the lives of thousands of people.
