Gold Falls ₹100 To ₹1.58 Lakh Per 10 Grams In Delhi

Gold prices in Delhi fell by ₹100 to ₹1,58,000 per 10 grams on Wednesday, marking the third consecutive day of decline. The price of the yellow metal with 99.9 per cent purity had closed at ₹1,58,100 per 10 grams in the previous session.

In contrast, silver prices jumped by ₹2,300 to ₹2,43,400 per kilogram, inclusive of all taxes, from Tuesday's closing level of ₹2,41,100 per kg, according to the All India Sarafa Association.

Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst - Commodities at HDFC Securities, attributed the narrow range of gold prices to investors' cautious approach ahead of the release of important US inflation data later this week. He also noted that rising crude oil prices have revived concerns over persistent inflation amid escalating tensions in West Asia.

Gandhi added that higher energy costs could add to inflationary pressures and reinforce expectations that interest rates may remain elevated, limiting the upside in bullion.

In global markets, spot gold gained $43.67, or 1 per cent, to $4,399.22 per ounce, while silver rose nearly 1 per cent to $66.25 per ounce.

Praveen Singh, Head of Commodities at Mirae Asset Sharekhan, said that spot gold recovered after recent losses as traders awaited US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's announcement on the long-term debt buyback programme.

Manav Modi, Commodities Analyst at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, stated that market attention now shifts firmly to US PPI and CPI data later this week, which will be crucial in determining whether inflationary pressures justify a September Fed hike.

The decline in gold prices and surge in silver prices are significant for investors and traders in the precious metals market. The upcoming US inflation data and Fed hike decision will be closely watched by market participants.

The gold and silver prices in Delhi are influenced by global market trends, and investors should keep a close eye on the developments in the US and other major economies.

The current trend in gold and silver prices may have implications for the Indian economy, particularly for the precious metals industry. The prices of gold and silver are closely watched by consumers, investors, and traders, and any significant changes can have a ripple effect on the market.

In conclusion, the decline in gold prices and surge in silver prices are significant developments in the precious metals market. Investors and traders should closely watch the upcoming US inflation data and Fed hike decision, as they will have a significant impact on the market trends.
