Yogi Govt Builds Unity Malls For Local Products

The Yogi Government has initiated the construction of modern PM Unity Malls in Agra, Varanasi, and Lucknow to provide a new market for local products and traditional craftsmanship.

The primary objective of these malls is to offer a permanent platform for the display and marketing of traditional industries, handicrafts, and local products at a single location. This will enable artisans, women, and youth to connect directly with a larger market.

The malls will showcase ODOP and GI-tagged products from various districts of the state, gaining recognition at the national and international levels. This initiative aims to revive traditional industries that are fading in rural areas, strengthening the livelihoods of artisans and establishing local products as the “new strength of Swadeshi.”

In Agra, the PM Unity Mall is being constructed in the Shilpgram area on approximately 11.53 acres of land at a cost of about Rs 128.85 crore. The mall will provide arrangements for branding and marketing handicrafts and traditional products from the Braj region, Agra, Firozabad, and surrounding districts in domestic and international markets.

The six-floor mall in Agra will have a total of 135 shops and is expected to be completed by November 2026. Similarly, Unity Malls are being constructed in Varanasi and Lucknow, with the Varanasi mall expected to be completed by December 2026 and the Lucknow mall by October 2026.

The establishment of Unity Malls will provide an opportunity to showcase products from all 75 districts of the state on a single platform, increasing the income of local artisans and creating new employment opportunities.

The Yogi Government's initiative is a significant step towards promoting local products and traditional craftsmanship, providing a much-needed boost to the state's economy. The completion of these malls is expected to have a positive impact on the livelihoods of artisans and the local economy as a whole.

The construction of Unity Malls is a part of the Central Government's ambitious project to promote local products and traditional craftsmanship. The project aims to provide a platform for local artisans to showcase their products and connect with a larger market, thereby increasing their income and creating new employment opportunities.

In conclusion, the Yogi Government's initiative to build Unity Malls is a significant step towards promoting local products and traditional craftsmanship, and is expected to have a positive impact on the livelihoods of artisans and the local economy as a whole.
