Shiv Sena Workers Allegedly Assault Hospital Staff in Palghar

A ruckus broke out at a hospital in Palghar, Maharashtra, on Sunday, after Shiv Sena office-bearers allegedly stormed the facility and assaulted staff members, including a female doctor. According to Dr. Vishal Godgikarkar, the head of the hospital, five to six patients from the incident came to the hospital and were treated. The hospital staff had handed over a bill of around Rs 19,866 to one of the patients at the time of discharge, which allegedly sparked the commotion.

The situation escalated when around 15 to 20 people entered the hospital and allegedly took away a patient who had been admitted there. They also took a patient who was on saline without the doctor's permission, and another patient who was undergoing an MRI scan was reportedly taken along with them.

A video shared on social media shows members of the Govinda team and Shiv Sena workers allegedly hurling abuses at hospital staff, including a woman. The visuals further show one of the Shiv Sena workers allegedly slapping the hospital receptionist.

The doctors and staff who were allegedly assaulted filed a complaint against the Shiv Sena workers at a police station. Around 10 people have been named in the complaint, and a case has been registered against 17 individuals.
