Mumbai Airport Customs officials have arrested two passengers, including a woman, for allegedly smuggling hydroponic weed from Bangkok.

Juvaliya admitted to the non-declaration, concealment, recovery, and seizure of the narcotic substance for monetary consideration.

In the second case, passenger B. A. Nileshkumar, also a resident of Surat, was intercepted and found to be carrying 880 grams of hydroponic weed concealed in five packets.

Nileshkumar also admitted to the non-declaration, concealment, recovery, and seizure of the hydroponic weed for monetary consideration.

The total weight of the seized hydroponic weed is 1.64 kilograms.

The Customs officials are probing the smuggling network and trying to identify the key associates of the accused.

They are also investigating who sent the accused to Bangkok, financed their trips, supplied the drugs in Bangkok, and who was supposed to receive the consignment in Mumbai.

The accused were remanded to judicial custody after their advocates appeared for them in court.

The arrests highlight the ongoing efforts of the Mumbai Airport Customs to curb the smuggling of narcotics into the city.

The Customs officials are working to identify and apprehend those involved in the smuggling network, and to prevent the flow of illicit drugs into Mumbai.
