Thane Woman Found Dead In Lift Shaft

A 54-year-old woman, Shaheen Shaikh, was found dead inside the elevator shaft of an unauthorised building in Thane's Bhiwandi area on Tuesday. She had gone missing on Monday evening while on her way home.

The body was discovered beneath the lift mechanism of the seven-storey Rabia Apartment in the Dhobi Talao area. The police have registered an accidental death report and sent her body for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
