A recent incident in Nandurbar, Maharashtra, has left nearly 40 students at a government hostel in Shahada hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning. The incident occurred on Saturday and triggered panic among students and parents.

According to District Collector Mitali Sethi, 40 children have been diagnosed with a mix of food poisoning and gastritis, with 25 of them hospitalized. Twenty students are being treated at the Rural Hospital in Shahada, while five students with oxygen and blood pressure issues have been admitted to a private hospital.

The District Collector visited the hospital and assured that the students' condition is stable and they are out of danger. She also stated that she is taking regular updates from the doctor and that most of the children at the Rural Hospital have stabilized and will be discharged after 24 hours.

The officials have taken food samples and vomit samples for testing to determine the cause of the food poisoning. The investigation is underway, and authorities are working on fixing accountability for the hostel management, Social Welfare Officer, and Warden. The police team is also present and is addressing the issues of the parents.
