BJP, Jan Suraaj Party File Nominations for Bankipur By-Poll

The Bankipur by-poll in Bihar took a significant turn on Monday as BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar Sinha and Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor filed their nomination papers. The by-poll was necessitated after Nitin Nabin vacated the seat following his election to the Rajya Sabha.

The nomination filing process was attended by prominent leaders, including Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, state BJP President Sanjay Saraogi, and BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, who accompanied Neeraj Kumar Sinha. On the other hand, Prashant Kishor was accompanied by his wife, Jahnavi Das, a medical practitioner from Assam.

Before filing his nomination, Prashant Kishor offered prayers at Baba Hariharnath Temple in Sonepur. The voting for the by-poll is scheduled to take place on July 30, and the result will be declared on August 3.

In a dramatic turn of events, RJD chief Lalu Prasad's elder son Tej Pratap Yadav's party nominee, Veena Manavi, was arrested immediately after filing her nomination. However, she was granted bail by a local court later. Manavi claimed that she did not know the case for which she had been arrested, which dates back to 2009.

Tej Pratap Yadav alleged that his party's candidate had been framed under a conspiracy hatched by the government. He claimed that the arrest warrant was issued on the same day as the nomination filing to falsely implicate Manavi in a fake case.

The Bankipur by-poll has gained significant attention, with major parties like the BJP and Jan Suraaj Party participating. The outcome of the by-poll is expected to have implications for the state's political landscape.

The by-poll was necessitated after Nitin Nabin's election to the Rajya Sabha, which led to the vacancy of the Bankipur seat. The BJP has fielded Neeraj Kumar Sinha as its candidate, while Prashant Kishor is contesting as the founder of the Jan Suraaj Party.

The nomination filing process marked the beginning of the campaign period for the by-poll. The candidates will now focus on campaigning and reaching out to voters in the constituency.

The Bankipur by-poll is significant, as it will test the popularity of the major parties in the state. The outcome of the by-poll will be closely watched, as it may have implications for the state's politics and the upcoming elections.

In conclusion, the Bankipur by-poll has taken a significant turn with the filing of nominations by major parties. The voting on July 30 and the result on August 3 will be closely watched, as it will have implications for the state's political landscape.
