Bhopal Railway Introduces Token System for Tatkal Bookings
New token system for Tatkal reservations starts August 1. Tokens issued in time slots.

The Bhopal Division of West Central Railway is introducing a new token distribution system for Tatkal reservations, effective August 1, 2026. This system will be implemented at all reservation centers across the Bhopal Division.
The token distribution system is designed to streamline the Tatkal ticket booking process. Tokens for AC Tatkal reservations will be distributed from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM, while tokens for non-AC Tatkal reservations will be distributed from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
A maximum of 10 tokens will be issued for AC category and 15 tokens for non-AC category at each reservation counter. However, the competent authority may revise these numbers based on crowd levels and local conditions.
Passengers booking Tatkal tickets for themselves or their family members will be categorized as Priority 'A' passengers. To avail of this priority, passengers must submit required documents, including self-attested copies of Aadhaar cards or other recognized photo identity cards.
For family members, additional documents such as a self-attested copy of the Aadhaar card of the family member acting as the representative and a self-attested copy of the Aadhaar card or other recognized photo identity card of the family member intending to travel are required. If the family relationship cannot be established through these documents, a self-attested copy of documentary proof of the relationship is necessary.
Passengers who do not fall under the Priority 'A' category will be placed in the Priority 'B' category. They must submit a self-attested copy of their Aadhaar card or other recognized photo identity card and a self-attested copy of the Aadhaar card or other recognized photo identity card of the passenger for whom the reservation is being sought, bearing the passenger's signature.
Passengers in the Priority 'B' category will be served at the reservation counter only after all Priority 'A' token holders have been attended to.
The introduction of the token distribution system aims to improve the efficiency and transparency of the Tatkal ticket booking process. By categorizing passengers and issuing tokens within specified time slots, the system seeks to reduce waiting times and minimize chaos at reservation centers.
The new system is expected to benefit passengers traveling from the Bhopal Division, providing them with a more organized and streamlined experience when booking Tatkal tickets. With the implementation of this system, the Bhopal Division of West Central Railway aims to enhance passenger satisfaction and improve overall service quality.
The token distribution system is a significant development in the railway's efforts to modernize and improve its services. As the railway continues to evolve and adapt to changing passenger needs, initiatives like this system demonstrate its commitment to providing efficient and convenient services to its customers.
In conclusion, the introduction of the token distribution system for Tatkal reservations in the Bhopal Division is a positive step towards improving the passenger experience. By providing a more organized and streamlined process, the system aims to reduce waiting times and enhance overall satisfaction.
