Waterlogging Hits Sitamau Road in Madhya Pradesh

A persistent waterlogging issue has resurfaced on the road stretch between Laduna Square and the Ginning Factory in Sitamau, Madhya Pradesh, causing traffic disruptions and damage to the roadway. The problem, which has been ongoing for the past three years, is attributed to inadequate drainage, resulting in large potholes and erosion along both sides of the road.

Following directions from Mandsaur Collector Aditi Garg, officials from the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC) and the toll company conducted an inspection of the affected area on Thursday. They were accompanied by Municipal Council Chairperson Manoj Shukla and civic officials.

During the inspection, MPRDC officials emphasized the need for the Municipal Council to construct drainage channels on both sides of the road and remove encroachments that obstruct water flow. They proposed that once proper drainage is ensured, the road could be raised by four inches to prevent future waterlogging.
