Adani Enterprises Shares Jump 4.5% on Airport Deal

Adani Enterprises shares climbed 4.5% on Wednesday after its airport subsidiary announced a fundraising agreement with leading global investors, including BlackRock and Temasek.

The stock rose to Rs 3,093 during morning trade, making it one of the top gainers on the Nifty index, despite a broader market decline.

The company’s airport subsidiary, Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), entered into a shareholders’ agreement with the identified investors for raising capital through the issuance of equity shares.

The transaction will allow investors to acquire up to 5.54% stake in the airport operator. The investor group includes Alpha Wave III, Premji Invest, and four BlackRock funds.

Adani Airport Holdings is India’s largest private-sector airport operator, handling nearly 23% of the country’s passenger traffic and around 29% of air cargo movement in FY26.

The company manages a significant share of India’s aviation infrastructure, with facilities in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, and other cities.

The participation of global investors such as BlackRock and Temasek highlights increasing investor interest in India’s airport infrastructure sector.

The fundraising exercise marks a significant development for AAHL, which is developing the Navi Mumbai airport project.

The company has gained more than 35% in 2026 so far, compared with a decline of around 10% in the benchmark Nifty 50.

The deal is expected to accelerate infrastructure expansion for Adani Airports, with the company eyeing a global fundraise of ₹9,825 crore.

The rights under the shareholders’ agreement will become effective after the completion of the first tranche of investment and will later be incorporated into AAHL’s Articles of Association.

The transaction involves the issuance of fresh equity shares by AAHL rather than a sale of existing shares by Adani Enterprises.

For Mumbai residents, this deal is significant as it involves the development of the Navi Mumbai airport project, which is expected to boost the city’s infrastructure and economy.

In conclusion, the deal between Adani Airport Holdings and global investors is a significant development for India’s airport infrastructure sector, and is expected to have a positive impact on the country’s economy.
