Three Arrested in Baruipur Rape-Murder Case

A shocking incident of rape and murder has taken place in Baruipur, south 24 Parganas, with the state police arresting three people, including the prime accused, and detaining three others. The arrests were made on Monday, with Prabhash Mondal and Dibakar Sardar being taken into custody first, followed by the prime accused, Ananda Sardar, in the afternoon.

The police have formed a six-member Special Investigating Team (SIT) to probe the matter. According to the primary autopsy report, the victim was alive when she was put inside a sack and thrown into a pond, with water found in her lungs.

Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has assured the victim's parents of capital punishment for the culprits and has announced that he will meet them on Tuesday. Adhikari stated that he will do everything in his power to ensure justice for the victim and her family, and that those involved in other related cases, including mob lynching and vandalism, will also be punished.

On the other hand, former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has condemned the incident by taking out a candle rally from her residence in Kalighat to Hazra More in south Kolkata. The 'rebel' Trinamool Congress (TMC) camp has also announced that they will visit the victim's family on Tuesday.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many demanding justice for the victim and her family. The SIT probe is currently underway, and the police are working to gather more evidence and build a strong case against the accused.

The Chief Minister's assurance of capital punishment for the culprits has been welcomed by many, who feel that it will serve as a deterrent to potential perpetrators of such heinous crimes. However, the incident has also raised questions about the safety and security of women in the state, and the need for more effective measures to prevent such crimes from taking place.

As the investigation continues, the people of West Bengal are waiting with bated breath for justice to be served, and for the perpetrators of this horrific crime to be brought to book.

The Baruipur rape-murder case has sent shockwaves across the state, with many calling for stricter laws and more effective implementation of existing laws to prevent such crimes. The incident has also highlighted the need for greater awareness and sensitivity towards victims of such crimes, and the importance of supporting them and their families in their quest for justice.
