Union Minister Inspects Tumakuru Railway Project

Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, V Somanna, conducted an inspection of the Tumakuru - Rayadurga New Railway Line Project works today. The inspection focused on the Urukere–Koratagere and Koratagere–Madakasira sections of the project.

During the inspection, Somanna reviewed the station works at Koratagere, Madhugiri, Hosakere, and Bedatturu. He instructed railway officials to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe, emphasizing the importance of meeting the deadline.

Somanna stated that the Tumakuru–Rayadurga New Line Project is progressing well, with significant progress achieved so far. The new railway line from Doddahalli to Pavagada has been completed, and the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) inspection has also been successfully conducted.

Train services from Rayadurga to Pavagada are expected to commence shortly. Additionally, the Tumakuru–Davangere New Line Project is also progressing expeditiously.

The 207 km Tumakuru–Rayadurga New Railway Line Project has achieved significant progress, with 110 km completed so far. This includes the 83 km stretch between Doddahalli and Rayadurga, which has already been commissioned in two phases.

The project has several sections that have been completed, including the 11 km section between Tumakuru and Urukere and the 16 km section between Doddahalli and Pavagada. Statutory inspections have been conducted by the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (CCRS) for these sections.

Work on the 22 km Madakasira–Pavagada section is currently in progress. The Urukere–Koratagere section is targeted for completion by February 2028, while the Koratagere–Madhugiri–Madakasira section is scheduled for completion by May 2028.

Several officials were present during the inspection, including K.N. Rajanna, MLA, Madhugiri; Prasad, Chief Engineer, Construction; Suraj Kumar, Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction); and other railway officials.
