Maharashtra Plans Solar-Powered Boats For Water Transport

Maharashtra Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane has directed officials to promote the use of modern, solar-powered passenger boats to make water transport in the state more comfortable, safe, and environmentally friendly.

The decision was made during a meeting held at Mantralaya on Sunday, where Navalt Boats made a presentation on modern passenger boats based on solar energy and other advanced technologies.

Rane directed the Maharashtra Maritime Board and the Ports Department to prepare a proposal for expanding passenger water transport services through modern boats while also exploring opportunities to increase revenue.
