28 students from BMC schools awarded for Class 10 excellence.

The Free Press Journal hosted the third edition of the BMC Schools Class 10 Toppers' Felicitation Ceremony, honoring 28 outstanding students from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation-run schools. The event recognized the students' exceptional performance in the Class 10 examinations.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Dr Prachi Jambhekar, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Education), BMC, and Guest of Honour, television actress Gulki Joshi. Dr Jambhekar congratulated the toppers, stating that their achievements were special because many had excelled without access to expensive coaching classes or private school facilities.
Dr Jambhekar credited the dedication of nearly 8,000 teachers for the students' success, saying they go far beyond classroom teaching. She also noted that nearly 90 per cent of the students had not depended on coaching classes, reflecting the commitment of their teachers.
Gulki Joshi encouraged students to treat education as their greatest strength, irrespective of their chosen profession. She reflected on her own journey, saying her parents ensured she completed her education before pursuing her acting career.
The event brought together educationists, philanthropists, and industry leaders to recognize the determination and resilience of students who excelled despite limited resources. The ceremony celebrated the inspiring journeys of the students, honoring their academic excellence and perseverance.
The students' achievements are a testament to the hard work and guidance of their school teachers. Dr Jambhekar believes every child in a BMC school has the ability to excel if given the right encouragement.
The event was also attended by other notable guests, including Devendra Desai, Founder Trustee of the Children Toy Foundation, and Poorvi Shah, CEO of Katalyst India. The ceremony was a celebration of the students' success and a recognition of the importance of education in their lives.
