Sunny Deol, born Ajay Singh Deol, is a Hindi cinema actor, director and producer, and the elder son of veteran star Dharmendra. He made his debut in the 1983 romance Betaab and became one of Hindi cinema's leading action heroes, best known for intense, high-energy roles in films such as Ghayal, Damini, Border and Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. He is regarded as one of the biggest box-office draws of the 1990s and staged a major comeback with the record-breaking Gadar 2 in 2023. Beyond acting, he directed films including Dillagi and Ghayal Once Again, and served as a Member of Parliament for Gurdaspur from 2019 to 2024.
