Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your Mumbai Alert News account at any time. There are two ways to do it — deleting in the app is instant.
Option 1 — In the app (instant)
- Open Mumbai Alert News on your phone.
- Go to More → Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
Your account and profile are removed immediately. If you are asked to sign in again first, that is a security check by our sign-in provider — sign out, sign back in, and repeat the steps.
Option 2 — Request by email
If you can no longer access the app, email us from the address on the account and we will delete it within 30 days.
Or write to mumbaialertnews@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account".
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in credentials (Google, Apple or email).
- Your profile: name, email address and profile photo.
- Your saved preferences and any device push-notification registration.
What we keep, and why
Citizen reports you already submitted are retained as part of our news records, and any report already published stays published — the same way a newspaper does not unprint a story. Where a published report is not in the public interest to keep attributed, we will remove your name and contact details from it on request.
We may also retain the minimum information required by law, or to prevent fraud and abuse. Anything else is deleted.
