EOW Seizes ₹2.5 Lakh Cash, ₹25 Lakh Vehicle from PWD Engineer

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) conducted searches at three premises linked to a Madhya Pradesh PWD executive engineer, Kamalkishore Singare, in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

The searches were carried out at Singare's government accommodation in Balaghat and his residences in Chhindwara and Bhopal. EOW Deputy Superintendent of Police SP Manjeet Singh led the search operation in Balaghat.

The EOW teams recovered ₹2.5 lakh in cash and a vehicle valued at around ₹25 lakh from Singare's official residence in Balaghat. The agency had obtained permission from a court before conducting the searches.

Singare had been posted in Balaghat for the past 14 months and had been facing complaints for allegedly demanding commissions from contractors in exchange for clearing construction bills. A formal complaint was lodged against him with the EOW in Jabalpur on July 13.

The complaint was filed by Yunus Khan, general secretary of the Civil Contractors Association. The EOW initiated action against Singare following the complaint.

The EOW teams were also taking Singare to Chhindwara as part of the investigation. Examination of documents is underway.
