BMC Clarifies Sonography Delays At MT Agrawal Hospital

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued a clarification regarding the delays in obtaining sonography appointments at the MT Agrawal Municipal Super Speciality Hospital in Mulund.

The hospital has performed 1,744 sonography examinations between April and July 20, 2026, with emergency and critically ill patients receiving immediate ultrasound scans.

The BMC attributed the waiting period to the referral of patients from Veer Savarkar Municipal Hospital and the Mulund Maternity Home, which do not have sonography services available.

Critically ill patients are provided immediate sonography services without an appointment date, while non-emergency patients are scheduled for future dates.

The BMC is procuring an additional ultrasound machine, which is expected to reduce waiting time and strengthen diagnostic services at the hospital.
