Madhya Pradesh Buys ₹230-Crore VVIP Jet

The Madhya Pradesh government has purchased a Challenger 3500 jet from Canadian company Bombardier for over ₹230 crore.

The jet will be used to fly VVIPs, including Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

Two pilots from Madhya Pradesh are currently undergoing training in the US to fly the modern midsize jet.

Their training will end on September 20, after which they will return to the state by flying the new jet.

The pilots, including government pilot Vishvas Rai and a hired pilot, left for the US on August 6 to learn how to fly the jet and its other functions.

The state government purchased the jet as its previous plane was damaged during a landing at Gwalior airport in 2021.

Since then, the government has been hiring planes for VVIP movement.

The Challenger 3500 is a modern jet that can fly long distances once fuelled.

After its arrival, the aviation department will initiate the process to seek permission from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to use the jet.

The jet will be parked at the state hangar in Bhopal.

The purchase of the jet is significant as no Indian state owns such a modern jet.

The company was given 20 months to supply the jet to the state government from the date the agreement was signed.

The new jet is expected to enhance the travel experience of VVIPs in Madhya Pradesh.

This development is a major upgrade for the state's aviation department and will likely have a positive impact on the state's administration.

The arrival of the new jet is a significant event for Madhya Pradesh and marks a new era in the state's aviation history.

It will be interesting to see how the new jet is utilized and how it benefits the state's VVIPs and administration.
