UP Launches Scooty Scheme For Women's Education

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched the Rani Lakshmibai Scooty Yojana to promote women's empowerment and higher education among girls. The scheme, approved by the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, aims to reduce the dropout rate among girl students and increase their retention in higher education.

The government will provide petrol-powered scooters to the selected students, which will be procured through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal to ensure transparency and quality. The scooter package will include the vehicle, registration charges, comprehensive vehicle insurance, an ISI-marked helmet, 4 litres of petrol, and all necessary accessories.
