Ashoka Buildcon Shares Jump 15% on ₹602-Crore RVNL Order

Ashoka Buildcon shares surged nearly 15 percent on Monday, August 31, after the company secured a ₹602.16-crore order from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). The order is for the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of electro-mechanical systems for tunnels under the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag New Broad Gauge Rail Line Project in Uttarakhand.

The contract was awarded through percentage-rate bidding, and Ashoka Buildcon must submit a performance bank guarantee of ₹25.51 crore to RVNL. The project carries a defect-liability period of two years following completion and involves the installation of 33/11 kV and 11/0.433 kV gas-insulated substations, high-tension and low-tension cables, diesel generator sets, and lighting infrastructure.

Ashoka Buildcon will also install uninterruptible power supply systems, ventilation equipment, and firefighting systems, along with other associated infrastructure. The company is required to complete the project within 30 months from the date work begins.

Earlier in August, Ashoka Buildcon received a letter of intent from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited for a transmission project in Maharashtra. The project involves establishing the Sakoli substation in Bhandara district and carries annual transmission charges of approximately ₹126.5 crore.

The latest contract strengthens Ashoka Buildcon's order pipeline and expands its presence in railway electrification and transmission infrastructure projects. Despite the sharp rally following the RVNL order, the infrastructure stock remains around 25 percent lower so far in 2026.

Ashoka Buildcon shares were trading 11.1 percent higher at ₹125.18 during Monday's session after trimming some early gains. The rally marked the stock's biggest single-day gain in more than six years. Ashoka Buildcon shares had previously climbed 18.2 percent on April 9, 2020.

The company's share-price performance is a significant development in the infrastructure sector, which has been experiencing a slowdown in recent years. The RVNL order is a major boost to Ashoka Buildcon's order book and is expected to contribute to the company's revenue growth in the coming years.

The infrastructure sector is a critical component of India's economy, and the government has been focusing on increasing investment in this sector to boost economic growth. The RVNL order is a testament to the government's efforts to increase investment in infrastructure projects and is expected to have a positive impact on the economy.

In conclusion, the surge in Ashoka Buildcon shares is a significant development in the infrastructure sector, and the company's order pipeline is expected to contribute to its revenue growth in the coming years. The RVNL order is a major boost to the company's order book and is expected to have a positive impact on the economy.
