UP CM Yogi Unveils Cow Conservation Plan

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has unveiled a vision for cow conservation that aims to create a new model of rural prosperity. The plan involves transforming gaushalas into centers of the rural economy, green energy, natural farming, and local entrepreneurship.

The Uttar Pradesh Go Seva Aayog recently held a meeting with entrepreneurs, innovative farmers, cow welfare organizations, and gaushala operators to discuss the integration of modern technology, innovation, and markets with cow conservation.

During the meeting, Purish Kumar, Secretary of the Global Confederation of Cow-Based Industries, presented an economic model that highlighted the potential of gaushalas to generate significant income. He noted that a gaushala housing 200 cows could generate an annual income of nearly Rs 2 crore through scientific value addition of milk, cow dung, and cow urine.

The meeting also featured presentations from other experts, including Devaram Purohit of Gomutra Dairy, who shared his experience of linking cow urine collection with the rural economy in Gujarat. Shailendra Pratap Singh, operator of Gram Dham Gaushala, discussed a cow-based electricity generation model developed at his gaushala.

Praveen Mishra, Director of Pay Amrit Sanstha, emphasized that the gaushala of the future would not merely be a place for cow conservation, but a rural circular bio-economy hub. Gaurav Gupta of Rural Hub Innovations Limited shared his experiences related to innovation, entrepreneurship, and value addition of local resources in rural areas.

The Uttar Pradesh Go Seva Aayog Chairman, Shyam Bihari Gupta, stated that the innovations taking place in gaushalas across the state would be connected with the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The goal is to transform gaushalas into self-reliant units capable of generating better income and creating new employment opportunities.

The plan has the potential to create a new cycle of employment and income in rural areas, while also promoting natural and chemical-free agriculture.
