Telangana DSP Arrested For ₹300 Crore Disproportionate Assets
DSP Sankireddy Bheem Reddy arrested, ₹40 lakh cash and 2 kg gold seized

A major development has taken place in the disproportionate assets case against Telangana Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sankireddy Bheem Reddy. On Monday, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Reddy from his residence in Vessella Meadows, Ibrahimbagh, Hyderabad. The arrest was made at around 7:40 pm, and Reddy is expected to be produced before the designated ACB court.
The ACB had been investigating Reddy for accumulating disproportionate assets, and searches were conducted at multiple locations linked to him on July 2. The searches revealed an extensive property portfolio allegedly linked to the DSP, including luxury homes, commercial properties, and agricultural land across Telangana and Karnataka. The properties found include a villa, penthouse, flats, and commercial spaces in various locations, as well as open plots and agricultural land.
The investigation also uncovered a significant amount of cash, gold, and silver. Cash worth ₹3.60 lakh was found at Reddy's residence, while another ₹40 lakh was allegedly found at the residence of one of his benamidars. Additionally, gold ornaments weighing around 2 kilograms and silver articles weighing around 20 kilograms were recovered. Bank balances amounting to approximately ₹19.91 lakh were also detected during the investigation.
The ACB's investigation gained momentum after they recovered a personal handwritten diary from Reddy, which allegedly contained details of his properties, investments, liabilities, and the names of his benamidars. The diary was written before Reddy left for the Char Dham pilgrimage with his wife in May.
The arrest of Reddy is a significant development in the case, and it is expected to have implications for the Telangana police department. The ACB's investigation has revealed a large-scale accumulation of wealth by Reddy, which is disproportionate to his known sources of income. The total value of the assets found is estimated to be around ₹300 crore.
The case is likely to have a significant impact on the public's perception of the police department and the government's efforts to combat corruption. The ACB's investigation and the subsequent arrest of Reddy demonstrate the agency's commitment to rooting out corruption and ensuring that those in positions of power are held accountable for their actions.
As the case progresses, it is likely that more details will emerge about Reddy's alleged wrongdoing and the extent of his accumulation of wealth. The ACB's investigation is ongoing, and it is expected that further developments will take place in the coming days. The public will be closely watching the case, and it is hoped that justice will be served and that those responsible for corruption will be held accountable,
