UP Tourism Launches 'Visit My State' Reel Campaign

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched the 'Visit My State Uttar Pradesh' campaign, inviting young residents to create 60-second reels showcasing what makes their city special. The campaign aims to bring forward destination stories through those who know these places closely.

Under the campaign, participants are required to create a reel in their own voice, highlighting the unique aspects of their city, including heritage, culture, food, and traditions. The reel should be shot outdoors, with a tourist landmark or recognizable destination clearly visible in the background.

The choice of reels reflects a wider change in how younger audiences discover destinations. Short videos, personal recommendations, and creator voices increasingly shape travel conversations, helping established attractions and local experiences reach wider audiences.

Tourism and culture minister Jaiveer Singh said, “Uttar Pradesh’s cultural identity is reflected across every district, city, and village. Through ‘Visit My State’, we want Gen Z and other young residents to become cultural ambassadors and present their cities in their own words.”

The participation format has been kept simple, with each entry required to be submitted as a reel, not exceeding 60 seconds. The participant must appear and speak on camera, with their face and voice clearly visible and audible. The city’s story must be narrated in the participant’s own words, and the video should conclude with the line, “Visit My State Uttar Pradesh.”

Entries can be recorded in Hindi or English and can be submitted through an online form available on the UP Tourism website. Participants can also refer to ‘Visit My State Uttar Pradesh’ videos available on UP Tourism’s social media platforms.

UPSTDC chairman and additional chief secretary, tourism, culture and religious affairs, Amrit Abhijat, said, “The campaign places residents at the centre of destination storytelling. A 60-second reel can bring together a place, a personal voice, and a local experience.”

The campaign seeks to direct digital interest towards local culture, tourism, and pride in one’s city. By showcasing the unique aspects of each city, the campaign aims to present Uttar Pradesh as one connected journey across faith, heritage, nature, cuisine, and craft.

This initiative is expected to promote tourism in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the state’s rich cultural heritage and diverse experiences. By engaging young residents as cultural ambassadors, the campaign aims to provide a fresh perspective on the state’s tourist destinations.

The 'Visit My State Uttar Pradesh' campaign is a unique opportunity for Gen Z to showcase their city and become cultural ambassadors. With its simple participation format and focus on storytelling, the campaign is expected to generate significant interest and engagement among young residents and tourists alike.

In conclusion, the 'Visit My State Uttar Pradesh' campaign is an innovative initiative that aims to promote tourism and cultural heritage in Uttar Pradesh.
