Nashik Woman, 2 Daughters Die By Suicide; 5 Booked

A tragic incident occurred in Wakhari village of Deola taluka in Nashik on Wednesday evening, where a 30-year-old married woman, Manisha Jayesh Wagh, allegedly died by suicide after jumping into a well along with her two young daughters, Siddhi and Khushi.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, and the bodies of the three were later recovered and sent to the Deola Rural Hospital for post-mortem examination. The woman's relatives alleged that her husband and in-laws were responsible for the deaths, citing harassment and pressure on Manisha to bring money from her parental home.

The police have registered a case of abetment of suicide against Manisha's husband, Jayesh Ramesh Wagh, and four members of his family, including his parents, brother, and sister-in-law. Four of the accused, including the husband, have been taken into custody.

The complaint filed by Bhaskar Waluba Jadhav, a resident of Rajderwadi in Chandwad taluka, alleged that Manisha was subjected to harassment by her in-laws because she had given birth to two daughters. The complaint also alleged that this harassment drove her to take the extreme step.

The investigation is being carried out by Assistant Police Inspector Nanda Patil under the supervision of Police Inspector Sarthak Nehete. The last rites of the deceased and her two daughters were performed in Wakhari amid tight police security.
