Leopard Attacks Delivery Boy In Indore
A leopard attacked a delivery boy, triggering panic among locals. The boy escaped without injuries.

A dramatic incident unfolded in the Bicholi Mardana area of Indore on Tuesday night when a leopard attacked a delivery courier. The encounter, which was captured by a nearby CCTV camera, occurred at around 21:00 when the courier arrived in the neighbourhood to deliver a parcel. As the leopard emerged and lunged at him, the courier quickly abandoned his motorcycle and fled on foot, managing to escape without any injuries.
The incident sparked widespread panic among local residents, who immediately alerted the police control room. The police then notified the forest department and Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary officials, who launched an extensive search operation. A rescue team, led by range officer Yogesh Yadav and Indore range deputy ranger Komal Paliwar, arrived at the scene by 22:00 and combed the area in search of the leopard.
However, the search was hampered by low visibility and continuous rainfall, making it difficult for the team to spot the animal. Despite their efforts, the leopard could not be found. Forest officials have since issued a public advisory, instructing residents to remain indoors, keep a close watch on their children, and report any fresh sightings.
The Bicholi Mardana area is located near the Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary and the Devguradia forest area, which is known to have wildlife movement. The heavy rainfall on Tuesday night had left the streets deserted, making it an ideal time for the leopard to roam freely. The incident has highlighted the need for residents to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid such encounters in the future.
The forest department has assured residents that they will continue to monitor the situation and take necessary steps to prevent such incidents from occurring again. In the meantime, residents have been advised to exercise caution and report any sightings of the leopard to the authorities immediately. The incident has also raised concerns about the safety of residents in areas adjacent to wildlife sanctuaries and forests.
As the search for the leopard continues, residents are being cautioned to remain indoors and avoid venturing out into the woods or isolated areas. The forest department is working closely with the police and local authorities to ensure that the situation is brought under control and the leopard is safely captured or relocated.
