MMRDA Installs 160-Tonne Trusses On Eastern Freeway Extension

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has achieved a significant construction milestone on the 13.9-km Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension (EFE) project. On Tuesday, the authority successfully erected two main trusses of its Segment Launcher on the busy Eastern Express Highway.

The operation was completed within a four-hour traffic window, with the actual erection of both trusses taking just one hour. The two massive trusses, each measuring 59 metres in length and weighing 160 tonnes, were installed using a carefully planned operation.
