Indore Police Bust Human Trafficking Racket

A human trafficking and illegal confinement racket was busted in Indore after four young girls, including a minor, escaped and approached the police. The girls, who were from Ratlam, alleged that they were lured to Indore with false job promises and were being held hostage along with 20 to 25 other women.

The victims claimed that they were brought to Indore on July 5 with the promise of jobs at an Ayurvedic medicine company. However, upon arrival, they were isolated and locked in separate rooms at a hostel. They were made to work under strict surveillance and were marched 1.2 km daily to a workplace under the Reti Mandi Bridge.

The girls decided to flee after overhearing the operators discussing a plan to transfer them to Ahmedabad. Three of them escaped on July 14, and the minor followed on July 15. They walked 2.5 km to the Rajendra Nagar railway station, took a train to Ratlam, and contacted a brother for help.

Accompanied by social activists, the girls returned to Indore and filed a formal complaint with the Commissioner of Police, Santosh Kumar Singh. The police revealed that the racket operated under the names 'Dream Life Wellness' and 'Mahadev Enterprises', managed by Kamlesh Rana and Urmila.

The network functioned as an alleged pyramid scheme, where victims were coerced into sharing contact details of other women and forcing them to invest Rs 16,000 each to earn pyramid points. The victims initially paid Rs 7,000 for food and lodging but received no salary.

Following the Commissioner's orders, the Rajendra Nagar police raided the hostel and rescued two to three more girls. Another girl was rescued from the Reti Mandi Bridge workplace. Two managers, a female supervisor, and a male accomplice were detained at the scene.

The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the allegations of illegal confinement and suspected trafficking. ACP Nidhi Saxena said that strict legal action will be taken under the relevant sections based on the final investigation report.

The rescue operation has brought to light the dark reality of human trafficking and pyramid schemes in the city. The police have urged people to be cautious of such scams and to report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

The incident has also raised concerns about the safety and security of women in the city. The police have assured that they will take all necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

In a city like Indore, where many people come in search of job opportunities, it is essential to be aware of such scams and to take necessary precautions. The police have advised people to verify the authenticity of job offers and to be cautious of any scheme that seems too good to be true.

The busting of the human trafficking racket is a significant achievement for the Indore police, and it is hoped that it will serve as a deterrent to those involved in such activities. The police will continue to investigate and take action against those responsible for the racket.

The incident is a reminder of the importance of being vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities. It is only through collective efforts that such scams can be prevented and the safety and security of citizens can be ensured.

In conclusion, the busting of the human trafficking racket in Indore is a significant development, and it is hoped that it will lead to a safer and more secure environment for the citizens of the city. The police will continue to work towards preventing such incidents and ensuring that justice is served to those responsible.
