128 Buses Found With Blocked Emergency Exits

In a statewide drive against buses violating safety norms in Madhya Pradesh, a total of 128 buses were found with emergency exit doors blocked by passenger seats. The week-long drive, which took place from May 21 to May 27, checked 12,209 buses and found 4,787 vehicles flouting various safety regulations.

The Police Training and Research Institute (PTRI) had instructed all district units in the state to conduct the special drive to check emergency exits in buses. This move came after multiple incidents were reported where emergency exit doors in buses were found blocked, which could prove fatal in the event of a fire or any other emergency.

According to officials, police collected penalties amounting to Rs 33 lakh from the violators during the drive. The police have also forwarded proposals to the Transport Department regarding the fitness of the buses found violating the norms. As a result, the department cancelled the fitness certificates of 22 buses, leading to the cancellation of their registrations.

The Transport Department has been asked to take strict action in the remaining cases. The drive highlights the importance of ensuring that all buses, including school buses, comply with prescribed safety and security norms. In fact, a 10-day special drive to inspect school buses will begin across the state on Wednesday, where officials will check compliance with safety and security norms and take strict action against violators.

The safety of passengers is a top priority, and such drives help identify and address potential risks. The cancellation of fitness certificates and registrations of buses that violate safety norms sends a strong message to bus operators to adhere to safety regulations. The state's efforts to improve road safety are commendable, and it is essential to continue such initiatives to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all road users.

In another development, the state is also taking action against other violations, such as the recent property tax scam in Bhopal. However, the focus on road safety is crucial, and the state's efforts to improve it are a step in the right direction. With the school bus checking drive set to begin, it is hoped that all buses will be made to comply with safety norms, and the state will see a reduction in accidents and fatalities on its roads.

The drive against buses violating safety norms is a significant step towards improving road safety in Madhya Pradesh. The state's commitment to ensuring that all buses comply with safety regulations is evident, and it is essential to continue such efforts to prevent accidents and save lives.

As the state moves forward with its road safety initiatives, it is crucial to monitor the effectiveness of such drives and make necessary adjustments to ensure that all buses, including school buses, comply with safety norms. The safety of passengers is a top priority, and it is essential to take all necessary measures to prevent accidents and ensure that all road users are safe.

In conclusion, the statewide drive against buses violating safety norms in Madhya Pradesh has highlighted the importance of ensuring that all buses comply with safety regulations. The cancellation of fitness certificates and registrations of buses that violate safety norms is a strong message to bus operators to adhere to safety regulations. The state's efforts to improve road safety are commendable, and it is essential to continue such initiatives to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all road users.
