Andhra Pradesh has received approval from the National Medical Commission to add 100 more MBBS seats to two government medical colleges in the state.

The expansion will take place at the Kadapa and Nellore government medical colleges. According to State Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav, 75 additional seats will be allocated to Kadapa Government Medical College, while 25 seats will be added to Nellore ACSR Government Medical College.

This increase in seats is for the academic year 2026-27. The National Medical Commission issued a letter of permission for the expansion, which will raise the total number of MBBS seats at Kadapa Government Medical College from 175 to 250 and at Nellore ACSR Government Medical College from 175 to 200.
