Baramati Woman Books For Attempting To Murder Husband

A shocking incident has come to light in Baramati, where a 38-year-old woman, Sharmila Pravin Jagtap, has been booked for allegedly attempting to murder her husband, Pravin Prakash Jagtap, by drugging him, assaulting him with a bat, and trying to bury him alive.

The alleged plan was foiled after the police control room received an emergency 112 call from an unidentified caller. A police team rushed to the spot, broke open the cement enclosure, rescued Pravin, and shifted him to a hospital for treatment. Pravin is currently undergoing treatment and is yet to recover sufficiently to record his statement.

The case was registered against Sharmila after Pravin's father, Prakash Kanhoba Jagtap, lodged a complaint with the Baramati City Police. Initially, members of the Jagtap family were reportedly unwilling to file a complaint, but Pravin's father later approached the police station, following which an FIR was registered.
