PIB Dehradun Hosts 'Vartalaap' Media Workshop

The Press Information Bureau (PIB), Dehradun, will host a one-day regional media workshop 'Vartalaap' in Gopeshwar, Chamoli district, on August 20. The workshop aims to provide print, electronic, and digital media professionals working in rural and border areas with authentic and fact-based information about the welfare schemes, policies, and achievements of the Central Government.

The 'Vartalaap' programme is one of the flagship outreach and dialogue programmes of the PIB, and its objective is to bridge the gap between the local media and the Government. This will enable accurate and authentic information about government initiatives to reach citizens at the last mile.

According to Mr. Sanjeev Sundriyal, Assistant Director, PIB Dehradun, the primary objective of the workshop is to establish a stronger and more vibrant dialogue between the Government's information machinery and the local media fraternity. This will help communicate the welfare-oriented policies and initiatives of the Central Government to people at the grassroots level.

The workshop will focus on Central Government initiatives related to women's empowerment, farmer empowerment, youth empowerment, healthcare, GI tags, and One District One Product (ODOP). Experts from various fields, senior administrative officials, and experienced journalists will participate in the programme and share their valuable insights.

The workshop will also highlight the role of development journalism in informing and empowering society, with a focus on the four major pillars of the country's development - poor and vulnerable sections, farmers, youth, and women. Information will be shared on several important schemes and initiatives, including E20 fuel, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

Local media professionals will have an opportunity to interact directly with subject-matter experts and officials from the concerned departments. This interaction will help journalists gain a better understanding of the functioning of these schemes and initiatives.

The 'Vartalaap' programme is being organised to mark 12 years of the Central Government's commitment to public service, good governance, and welfare of the poor. The workshop is part of a series of outreach programmes that the PIB Dehradun will organise periodically across all districts of Uttarakhand.

The PIB Dehradun aims to continue organising such workshops to enable journalists to obtain accurate information about the progress of various Central Government schemes and the benefits accruing to citizens from them. This will help in effective communication of the welfare-oriented policies and initiatives of the Central Government to people at the grassroots level.

In conclusion, the 'Vartalaap' media workshop is an important initiative by the PIB Dehradun to bridge the gap between the local media and the Government, and to provide authentic and fact-based information about the welfare schemes, policies, and achievements of the Central Government. This will help in empowering the local media fraternity and enabling them to play a more effective role in informing and empowering society.

The workshop is expected to have a positive impact on the local media professionals and the citizens of Uttarakhand, and will help in promoting good governance and public service in the region. With its focus on development journalism and the four major pillars of the country's development, the workshop is an important step towards achieving the Central Government's commitment to public service and welfare of the poor.

Overall, the 'Vartalaap' media workshop is a significant initiative by the PIB Dehradun, and is expected to have a positive impact on the local media fraternity and the citizens of Uttarakhand.
