UP Issues Letters For 40 Food Projects

Uttar Pradesh has issued Letters of Comfort for 40 food processing projects across the state, with over 21 projects in Purvanchal and Madhyanchal. This move is part of the state's efforts to become a major hub for agricultural processing and value addition.

Companies like Varun Beverages, CP Milk and Food Products, and Banaskantha District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union (Amul) are strengthening the beverage and dairy manufacturing ecosystem in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The expansion of food processing industries in Purvanchal is increasing opportunities for local value addition of agricultural produce. These projects are expected to strengthen linkages among farmers, local supply chains, logistics networks, and organized manufacturing.

Madhyanchal is also emerging as a new growth corridor for food processing, with 12 projects underway. Hardoi is rapidly developing into a major centre for the sector, with projects proposed by leading companies like Varun Beverages, ITC, Balaji Wafers, and Haldiram. Kanpur Dehat, Sitapur, and other districts are also witnessing investments from companies like HL Agro Products, Radico Khaitan, and Dalmia Chini Mills.
