UP Police Files FIR Over Fake SI Recruitment Results

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against a social media post that made false claims about the UP Police Sub-Inspector Direct Recruitment-2025 results. The post, which was made on a Twitter account named 'Justice X', was deemed completely baseless and misleading by the Board.

According to the UPPRPB, the post contained allegations that were totally unfounded and without any factual basis. The Board has warned candidates against trusting any information on social media and has advised them to rely only on official announcements.

The FIR was registered at the Husain Ganj Police Station in Lucknow on July 10, 2026, under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Information Technology Act. The case is currently under investigation, and further legal action is being taken.

The UPPRPB has also issued a warning to individuals who share claims on social media without supporting evidence. The Board has stated that those who possess genuine and verifiable information related to the recruitment process should submit it directly to the recruitment board instead of circulating unverified posts online.

The recruitment process for the UP Police Sub-Inspector positions is currently underway, with a total of 4,543 vacancies available. The written test results were announced on May 7, 2026, and a total of 15,75,760 applicants had applied for the positions. The written test was held in four shifts on March 14 and March 15, 2026.

The recruitment criteria require candidates to obtain a minimum of 35% marks in each subject and 50% marks overall. Based on merit and reservation policy, 12,333 candidates have been shortlisted for further selection.

The UPPRPB has advised candidates to ignore rumors and rely only on official notifications released by the Board. The Board has also warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found spreading misleading or factually incorrect information that can create confusion among candidates.

This development highlights the importance of verifying information through official channels, especially in the context of recruitment processes. It also underscores the need for social media users to be responsible and cautious when sharing information that can have a significant impact on others.

In conclusion, the UPPRPB's decision to file an FIR against the misleading social media post is a significant step towards maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process. It serves as a reminder to candidates to remain vigilant and rely only on official sources of information.

The incident also raises awareness about the potential consequences of spreading false information on social media. As the recruitment process continues, it is essential for candidates to stay informed through official channels and to be cautious of misleading posts that can create unnecessary confusion and anxiety.

Overall, the UPPRPB's actions demonstrate a commitment to transparency and fairness in the recruitment process, and candidates can expect to receive accurate and reliable information through official notifications.
