Bhopal to Get 10 Modern Towers

A major redevelopment project is underway in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, with the Madhya Pradesh Housing Board's Central Vista project aiming to reconstruct new buildings in place of the ageing Satpura Bhawan and Vindhyanchal Bhawan. The project has reached the master plan stage, with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) currently being prepared.

The plan involves the construction of 10 modern towers, with five towers each replacing the Satpura Bhawan and Vindhyanchal Bhawan. According to Madhya Pradesh Housing Board commissioner Gautam Singh, the project is progressing, with the DPR being prepared. The towers will be constructed in four phases, with each tower having six to seven floors.

The proposed plan emphasizes vertical development, reducing ground coverage and incorporating green building norms to allow maximum sunlight and adequate ventilation. The building blocks will be designed to receive green ratings, with the remaining area being used for green spaces. The estimated execution period for the project is three to five years, with an estimated construction cost of Rs 1,000 crore or more.

The decision to reconstruct the buildings was made after a massive fire at Satpura Bhawan in June 2023. The new towers will provide modern facilities for several government offices currently operating from the ageing buildings. The project also includes plans to lease out some space to financial institutions such as banks.

In the first phase, the V1 and S1 towers will be constructed on available open space. The second phase will involve the demolition of the existing buildings, followed by the construction of the remaining towers. Construction will commence after clearance from the chief minister and chief secretary's offices.

The Central Vista project is a significant development for Bhopal, aiming to provide modern and sustainable infrastructure for government offices. The project's emphasis on green building norms and vertical development reflects the government's commitment to environmentally friendly and efficient urban planning.

The redevelopment of the Satpura Bhawan and Vindhyanchal Bhawan is expected to have a positive impact on the city's infrastructure and economy. The new towers will provide a modern and efficient workspace for government employees, while also contributing to the city's aesthetic appeal.

As the project progresses, it is expected to generate significant interest and investment in the city's real estate sector. The Madhya Pradesh Housing Board's commitment to sustainable and efficient urban planning is a positive step towards creating a modern and livable city.

In conclusion, the Bhopal Central Vista project is a significant development for the city, aiming to provide modern and sustainable infrastructure for government offices. The project's emphasis on green building norms, vertical development, and efficient urban planning reflects the government's commitment to creating a modern and livable city.
