On July 10, Yadav allegedly took her to a flat near Ratnagiri on the pretext of holding a meeting, where he misbehaved with her, forcibly grabbed and slapped her, causing injuries to her face.

The complainant further alleged that Yadav forcibly established physical relations with her at the flat. The next morning, when she asked to return to her hostel, Yadav allegedly warned her against disclosing the incident to anyone, threatening her with dire consequences if she did so.

The Piplani police have registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act. The police officials said that further action would be taken after the investigation.

The complainant also alleged that NSUI members were pressurising her to withdraw the complaint against Yadav. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of women in the organisation.

The NSUI is the student wing of the Indian National Congress, and the incident has brought attention to the need for stricter measures to prevent such incidents within the organisation.
