NAREDCO Maharashtra Seeks ₹10,000-Crore Investment At Mumbai Summit

NAREDCO Maharashtra is set to host the sixth edition of its Real Estate & Infrastructure Investors' Summit (REIIS) 2026 in Mumbai on September 3, with a focus on attracting investment commitments of over ₹10,000 crore in the state's real estate and infrastructure sectors.

The summit, themed 'RE-Defining India's Growth Story', will bring together policymakers, institutional investors, financial institutions, developers, and technology companies to discuss investment opportunities, infrastructure-led growth, alternative financing, artificial intelligence (AI), and PropTech.

According to NAREDCO, India's real estate sector was valued at around $650 billion in 2025 and contributed approximately 7.3% to the country's GDP. The sector is projected to expand significantly in the coming decades. Maharashtra is expected to attract around ₹10,000 crore in foreign direct investment and domestic institutional capital into real estate and infrastructure projects.

The summit will focus on infrastructure-led opportunities emerging from projects such as Mumbai 3.0, transit-oriented development corridors, and large-scale urban redevelopment. Kamlesh Thakur, President of NAREDCO Maharashtra, said the summit comes at an important stage in Maharashtra's infrastructure and urban development trajectory.

The day-long event will feature panel discussions on alternative capital, cross-border expansion, AI adoption in real estate, investment strategies, and mechanisms to improve liquidity in the sector. The summit will also highlight emerging investment opportunities in residential and commercial real estate, data centres, logistics, and other infrastructure-linked assets.

JLL India is scheduled to release an exclusive report on redevelopment in Mumbai during the event. The Government of Maharashtra will also launch an International Business and Finance Centre (IBFC) at Nagpur, aimed at creating a new business and investment destination in the region.

The summit is expected to unlock sustainable capital flows, promote PropTech adoption, and shape actionable growth opportunities for the region's evolving built environment. With global investors from markets including Japan, South Korea, and the Middle East showing increasing interest, the event is poised to play a significant role in shaping the future of Maharashtra's real estate and infrastructure sectors.

In the context of India's growing real estate sector, the summit is a timely initiative that aims to bring together key stakeholders to discuss investment opportunities and growth strategies. As Maharashtra continues to lead transformative infrastructure and urban development, the summit is expected to provide a platform for developers, venture capital, and institutional investors to come together and shape the future of the state's built environment.

The significance of the summit lies in its ability to attract investment and promote growth in Maharashtra's real estate and infrastructure sectors. With the state expected to attract significant investment in the coming years, the summit is poised to play a crucial role in shaping the future of the sector.

In conclusion, the sixth edition of REIIS 2026 is a significant event that aims to attract investment and promote growth in Maharashtra's real estate and infrastructure sectors. With a focus on infrastructure-led opportunities, AI, and PropTech, the summit is expected to provide a platform for key stakeholders to come together and shape the future of the state's built environment.
