PM Surya Ghar Scheme Subsidizes ₹502 Crore In Malwa-Nimar

The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has achieved significant milestones in western Madhya Pradesh, with the installation of over 69,000 solar plants and the disbursement of ₹502 crore in subsidies to consumers.

The Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company has reported that 69,069 solar plants have been installed across the Malwa-Nimar region, with Indore district accounting for the highest number of installations at nearly 30,000. Ujjain and Ratlam districts follow closely.

As of the latest update, more than 65,000 consumers have received subsidies totaling over ₹502 crore through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The company is processing subsidies for other eligible consumers after verifying the required documents and completing the necessary procedures.

Anup Kumar Singh, Managing Director of the company, stated that efforts are being made to raise awareness about the scheme's benefits and encourage more consumers to participate. Superintending Engineers are regularly reviewing applications and monitoring the implementation of the scheme.
