Palghar School Student Dies, 30 Others Under Observation

A seven-year-old student at the Maswan school in Palghar died, prompting an official probe into the incident.

The Palghar branch of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) inspected the school kitchen, taking materials used in preparing food into custody for further examination.

The officials reviewed measures related to pest control, water purification, and other aspects concerning food and hygiene at the school.

The school superintendent was suspended with immediate effect for alleged gross negligence in the discharge of duties.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to conduct a detailed inquiry into the student's death and recommend measures to prevent similar incidents.

The administration said appropriate action would be taken against those found responsible after the SIT submits its report.
