Nashik Youth Murdered Over Ganpati Festival Dispute

A 29-year-old youth, Hemant Suryavanshi, was murdered in Saputara on August 26 following a dispute over contributions for the Ganpati festival. Hemant, a resident of Holi Chowk in Surgana, had gone to Saputara with his friends for the Monsoon Festival. The group visited a pav bhaji stall around 11:30 pm, where Kunal Pardeshi and Pradip Pawar also arrived. An argument broke out between Kunal and Hemant, and Kunal allegedly struck Hemant twice in the abdomen and once in the chest with a sharp weapon.

Hemant's friends rushed him to the government hospital in Borgaon on a two-wheeler, where he received primary treatment. He was then transferred to the government hospital in Vani, where doctors declared him dead. Medical officials stated that Hemant died around 1 am on August 27.
