Yogi Adityanath Reviews Cutting-Edge Tech at UP-Japan Meet

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 exhibition at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow on Friday. The exhibition featured various stalls showcasing cutting-edge technologies from the defence, aerospace, agriculture, and construction sectors.

One of the key attractions was Maraal Aerospace's Tejasvaan drone, an indigenous fixed-wing UAV developed by the IIT Kanpur-incubated startup. The drone is designed for extended aerial operations and can remain airborne for nearly 12 hours continuously.

Tejasvaan is capable of operating at altitudes of around 6,000 metres above sea level and can carry payloads of up to 5 kilograms. The proposed one-way operational range is between 120 and 150 kilometres. The UAV incorporates technologies such as high-efficiency solar cells, lightweight composite structures, and autonomous flight systems.

The potential applications of Tejasvaan include intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, border monitoring, disaster management, communication relay, and infrastructure inspection. Maraal Aerospace is also working on a High-Altitude Pseudo-Satellite platform designed for continuous operation of up to 90 days.

The company has acquired around 154 acres of land in Uttar Pradesh on a 90-year lease and plans to develop a tractor, construction equipment, and parts centre over the next seven years. The proposed investment in the project is estimated at over Rs 2,000 crore.

The company displayed a combine harvester, rice transplanter, compact tractor, and diesel genset. The showcased combine harvester is priced at around Rs 27 lakh, while the rice transplanter costs about Rs 14 lakh. The compact tractor and diesel genset are priced at approximately Rs 6 lakh and Rs 7 lakh respectively.
