Jio Relaunches ₹299 Prime Plan

Reliance Jio has relaunched its Jio Prime membership programme for a one-time fee of ₹300, offering eligible prepaid and postpaid customers protection from tariff hikes until September 5, 2027.

This move comes after recent changes to Airtel's tariff structure, which saw the discontinuation of several low-cost prepaid options and a price hike of up to 16 percent on some popular packs.

The Jio Prime membership is open to all existing Jio prepaid and postpaid customers and can be purchased through the MyJio app, Jio.com, Jio stores, and partner retail outlets.

The ₹299 plan under Prime includes 1.5 GB of daily data, 28 days validity, JioHotstar subscription, 500GB cloud storage, and Google Gemini Pro subscription.

Jio Prime members will also receive ₹300 cashback vouchers that can be redeemed for a new Jio SIM connection or a JioHome broadband setup. Additionally, members will get priority customer support through a dedicated service channel and early access to new Jio products and trials.

Jio has announced that any price revisions announced before September 5, 2027, will not apply to Prime members who have already subscribed. The company has also promised to announce additional benefits during the membership period.

The relaunch of the Jio Prime plan is seen as a strategic move by the company to retain its customer base and attract new subscribers amidst increasing competition in the telecom sector.

The telecom industry has witnessed significant changes in recent times, with operators revising their tariff plans and introducing new offers to stay competitive. Jio's move to relaunch its Prime plan is expected to have a significant impact on the market.

For Jio customers, the Prime plan offers a sense of security and stability in terms of tariff, which is a major concern for many subscribers. The additional benefits, such as cashback vouchers and priority customer support, make the plan even more attractive.

In the coming days, it will be interesting to see how Jio's competitors respond to this move and whether they will introduce similar offers to retain their customer base.

Overall, the relaunch of the Jio Prime plan is a significant development in the telecom sector, and it will be closely watched by customers, operators, and industry experts alike.

The impact of this move on the telecom industry and Jio's customer base will be significant, as it provides a sense of stability and security in terms of tariff, which is a major concern for many subscribers.
