Ayodhya Ram Temple Boosts Donation Security

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has introduced new security measures at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to ensure the safe handling of donations.

The trust has made significant changes to the system for counting donations, including the introduction of pocketless uniforms for staff involved in counting donations. This new attire is designed to prevent personnel from carrying cash or other items out of the counting area.

In addition to the new uniforms, counting staff will also undergo frisking at both entry and exit points to further prevent any potential theft.

The trust has also increased the retention period for CCTV recordings of the counting room from 45 to 180 days. This will allow for more effective monitoring and investigation of any incidents.

The trust is also replacing fixed cameras with pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras, which will enable closer monitoring of specific activities inside the facility.

The State Bank of India has been asked to reconsider deploying contractual workers for donation-counting duties and instead use regular bank employees for the sensitive assignment.

Trust officials will also exercise greater supervision over the counting process, and currency bundles will now be packed and secured together inside the temple premises before being loaded directly into the bank's vehicle.

These changes come as the trust proceeds with the appointment of a new CEO. A three-member search committee has completed the final interview rounds and will submit a panel of three names to the trust for the final appointment.

The introduction of these new security measures demonstrates the trust's commitment to ensuring the safe and transparent handling of donations at the Ram Temple.
