Pune Police Bust Prostitution Racket, Rescue Minor Girl
Pune police raid spa, arrest manager, rescue 4 victims

On July 7, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Pune Police raided a spa centre in Viman Nagar, arresting the manager for allegedly forcing a minor girl and three women into prostitution. The raid occurred at 3:30pm at Silent Spa in the East Court Building.
The police action was based on a complaint filed by Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Ishwar Mhatardev Andhale. The spa manager, Rehanuddin Abul Kalam, 22, was taken into custody. A case has also been registered against the spa owner, Akshay Sir, who is currently absconding.
According to the police, they had received information that prostitution was being carried out under the cover of massage services at the spa. A decoy customer was sent to the premises, and after receiving a pre-arranged signal, the police team raided the spa. During the operation, officers rescued one minor girl and three women who were allegedly being exploited.
The victims were rescued safely, while the spa manager was taken into custody. The police are probing the involvement of the spa owner and possible links to a larger human trafficking network. The matter is under investigation.
The police had acted swiftly on the tip-off, ensuring the safe rescue of the victims. Further investigation is underway to uncover the extent of the prostitution racket and potential connections to other human trafficking cases.
The arrest of the spa manager and the registration of a case against the spa owner are significant steps in combating human trafficking in the region. The police will continue to investigate and take action against those involved in such illegal activities.
