Pune Offers Toll-Free Passes For Ganesh Devotees

Ganesh devotees travelling to the Konkan region from Pune will be eligible for toll exemption from September 11 to 27, 2026, as per a Maharashtra government circular issued on September 8.

The toll exemption will apply to vehicles carrying devotees to and from Konkan for the festival. Additionally, Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses will also be eligible for the concession during this period.

To avail of the toll exemption, devotees will need to obtain toll-free passes from the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Pune. These passes will be issued after verification of the required vehicle documents, including the Registration Certificate (RC), driving licence, tax certificate, insurance certificate, fitness certificate, Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, and transport permit.

The RTO, Pune, will issue passes on all working days and holidays between September 11 and 27, during office hours. Passes will be available at the RTO's office on Dr Ambedkar Road near Sangam Bridge, as well as at the Alandi Road and Dive offices on regular working days.

Applicants must submit valid vehicle documents to obtain the passes. The initiative aims to facilitate the movement of Ganesh devotees between Pune and Konkan during the festival period.
