Girl Dies, 13 Injured in Rajasthan Madrasa Sewage Tank Accident

A tragic incident occurred at a madrasa in Deeg, Rajasthan, on Friday, resulting in the death of a 17-year-old girl and injuring 13 others. The students were cleaning a sewage tank at the madrasa when the stairs inside the tank suddenly slipped, causing them to fall into the deep tank.

According to Superintendent of Police Kamble Sharan Gopinath, the cleaning work was underway at the madrasa, with some students cleaning the sewerage tank while others were on top. The stairs gave way, and all the students fell into the tank. A 17-year-old student, Rohin, from Sakras village in Haryana, died on the spot, while 13 others were injured and rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, their condition is reported to be out of danger.

The police have filed an FIR against the madrasa administration, including Mohammad Arshad, Mohammad Rashid, Mohammad Asjad, and Rizwana. The Superintendent of Police assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the incident. Madrasa cleric Arshad claimed that most of the tank had already been cleaned with machines, and only a small amount of debris remained, which the students were trying to remove when the accident occurred.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Jawahar Singh Bedham expressed his shock and disappointment at the incident, stating that it is shameful that children who come to study are made to do such hazardous work. He assured that action would be taken against whoever is behind this tragedy.

The incident highlights the risks and dangers faced by students in some educational institutions, particularly in rural areas. It also raises questions about the safety and well-being of students and the responsibility of educational institutions to ensure their protection.

In recent years, there have been several incidents of students being injured or killed while performing hazardous tasks, including cleaning sewage tanks. These incidents have sparked concerns about the lack of safety measures and the exploitation of students in some institutions.

The Rajasthan government has faced criticism in the past for its handling of such incidents, and this latest tragedy is likely to put further pressure on the authorities to take action to prevent such incidents in the future.

The incident is a reminder of the need for educational institutions to prioritize the safety and well-being of their students and to ensure that they are not exposed to hazardous situations. It also highlights the importance of holding those responsible for such incidents accountable and taking strict action against them.

As the investigation into the incident continues, it is hoped that the authorities will take concrete steps to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future and ensure that students are protected from harm.

In conclusion, the tragic incident at the Rajasthan madrasa is a stark reminder of the risks and dangers faced by students in some educational institutions. It is essential that the authorities take immediate action to prevent such incidents and ensure that students are safe and protected.
