BMC Mandates MDCTS Registration For C&D Projects, ₹25,000 Fine For Violations

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has made it mandatory for builders, developers, contractors, government agencies, and transporters to register their construction and demolition (C&D) projects and waste-carrying vehicles on the Mumbai Debris Control & Tracking System (MDCTS) within 15 days.

This move aims to bring the entire C&D waste chain under tighter control, from generation and transportation to processing, recycling, unloading, and backfilling. The BMC has also mandated the use of active Vehicle Tracking and Monitoring Systems (VTMS) for all vehicles transporting C&D waste and excavation material.
