JNU Starts Admission 2026-27 For UG, COP Programs

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has begun the admission process for its Undergraduate (UG) and Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programs for the 2026-27 academic session.

The application process is now open, and eligible students can apply online through the university's official admission portal until July 22, 2026.

For most UG and COP courses, admissions will be based exclusively on CUET UG 2026 scores. However, students seeking BTech seats will need to go through JEE Main followed by JoSAA or DASA counseling.

To be eligible for BA (Hons.) and BSc programs, candidates must have secured at least 45% aggregate marks in Class 12 or an equivalent examination. Students awaiting their Class 12 results are also eligible to apply.

The eligibility criteria for Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programs are similar, with candidates requiring at least 45% aggregate marks in Class 12 or an equivalent examination.

The BTech program, which spans eight semesters, requires students to complete a minimum of 155 credits, and admission will be based on JEE Main scores.

JNU is offering various courses, including BA (Hons.) in Foreign Languages, BSc in Ayurveda Biology, and several Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programs conducted by the School of Language, Literature and Cultural Studies and the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies.

The application fee for General/EWS/OBC candidates is ₹300, while SC/ST/PwD candidates need to pay ₹150. Foreign nationals are required to pay ₹3,830.

To apply, candidates need to keep certain documents and details ready, including an active DigiLocker account, valid email ID and mobile number, recent passport-size photograph, scanned signature, and CUET UG 2026 Score Card.

Candidates can register and log in via DigiLocker on the official JNU admission portal and follow the instructions to complete the application process.

It is essential for applicants to thoroughly understand the qualifying criteria and reservation norms before submitting their forms.

The admission process for JNU's UG and COP programs is a significant opportunity for students seeking to pursue higher education at one of India's premier universities.

With the application deadline of July 22, 2026, eligible students are advised to apply online as soon as possible to secure their seats in the desired programs.

This development is crucial for students and parents in Mumbai and across the country, as JNU is a renowned institution that offers a wide range of academic programs.

The commencement of the admission process for JNU's UG and COP programs is a significant event in the academic calendar, and students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to pursue their academic goals.
