KPSC Scam: ₹40-80 Lakh Paid For Jobs

A probe by the CID into the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) scam has exposed a network of middlemen and insiders who facilitated 'money for posting' in recruitment exams.

The scam involved the recruitment of veterinary doctors, where aspirants paid between ₹40 lakh to ₹80 lakh to secure jobs.

The CID arrested Basavaraj Kannale, an accomplice of IAS officer Gyandendra Kumar Gangwar, who was allegedly running the racket with the help of KPSC officials and members.

During the recruitment process, candidates paid the money to middlemen, who shared it in a 60:40 ratio with KPSC insiders.

The CID also found that question papers were leaked, and candidates were charged differently for various services, including training and editing OMR sheets.

Similar malpractices were reported in other recruitment exams, including those for RDPR and Panchayat Development Officer positions.

Several successful candidates have come forward and confessed to paying money to the middlemen, including Mohammed Suhail, who paid ₹40 lakh.

Kannale, who was arrested, claimed to have good relations with both BJP and Congress leaders and planned to contest the 2033 Assembly elections.

The scam has raised concerns about the integrity of the recruitment process in Karnataka.

The KPSC is responsible for conducting exams for various government positions, and the scam has affected the credibility of the organization.
